Andrea Brady
Qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist
I believe that a good relationship in the therapy room is the fundamental cornerstone to making therapy work. It is difficult to look at our innermost fears and darkest thoughts, never mind voicing them to a stranger. It is my goal for therapy, that you feel comfortable enough to explore these with me. The therapeutic experience is a dual relationship which we need to work together to create.

I have worked with many different people who wanted support with anxiety & depression, addiction, family trauma, personal trauma, identity, sexual identity, parental support around sexual development. It is within the support of therapy that we can work through these issues to help create a stronger sense of inner strength and resilience. Working through talk therapy helps to cultivate a stronger sense of self which prepares us as we move forward. Some of my clients attend for short term periods to help with times of stress and others stay long term as a mental health support, similar to that of physical health.
In addition to my degree, I continue to engage in further study, in particular psychoanalysis, to ensure I keep on top of new research. This helps to deepen my ability to create bespoke therapy in a multitude of modalities.

“Our sadness is an energy we discharge in order to heal… Sadness is painful. We try to avoid it. Actually discharging sadness releases the energy involved in our emotional pain. To hold it in is to freeze the pain within us. The therapeutic slogan is that grieving is the ‘healing feeling.’“
